Bottle Lake Forest Park/Waitākiri is a production forest and recreation park in the North East of Christchurch.
Photographed at dusk, I want to explore some of the periphery of the forest. It feels a bit dangerous to go further into it by myself at night time. The edges of forests fascinate me - it’s as if it delineates one world from another. On one side of the forest here there have been boy racers doing skids, writing graffiti on the trees, making their mark. Maybe they too are apprehensive about going further.

The other side is a community sports ground. Empty on this night.
