Ode to the grey willow.
This species is a nurse tree in the wetlands, but also considered invasive and even “unwanted” by MPI classification. I’ve removed a chunk of Grey Willow from near the viewing tower and have had it sliced up. It’s drying out now - will likely take about 6 months. This is it 3 months in…. When it’s ready I’ll coat it in polyurethene to seal it. Then coat it in Liquid Light and make a photogram with the new spring growth of the grey willow leaf.
