Newly planted native seedlings. Regeneration of a nondescript strip of roadside grass alongside the Duvauchelle Wastewater Treatment Plant. Native bush surrounds it.
Currently (2023) the treated effluent is discharged out into the harbour by way of a 1600 meter submerged pipe. At low tide it often smells terrible in this part of the harbour.
Plans are to change this in the future and the effluent will be discharged ono the land nearby. This seems somewhat hopeless, which to pollute - the water or the land?
