Walk around the track and boardwalk at Travis/Ōruapaeroa.
Willow tree planted when the swamp was drained by European settlers and used as farming land. Now it is a magical tree for children, my kids love this spot.
The raupo/bullrush is it’s winter state.
Pre European settlement, the local Maori would thatch the raupo in construction of their whare and rafts. The young shoots were edible too.
Abstract patterns in the organic.
